OWH MWT: Christmas in July

Over at FB Scrap to Treasure we had a Christams in July Card Kit Swap.  Sometimes I like to create a sample card in advance of sending the supplies just to make sure everything works.  I ended up changing some of the sentiments included to make sure there was enough space.  It is super fun to see how different the cards can be with the same group of supplies.  Most of these papers I purchased at a garage sale last year.  I think the image is from Inkadinkado set.

OWH Sketch #181

It is Sunday, and a challenging sketch coutesy of Diane was posted.  I made one card and thought "you can do better so I made a second card that I really like.  Not sure where the eagle image is from...if you know just give me a shout out.  Pattern papers from K&Co and sentiments are computer generated.  I decided to go almost all computer on the second for a cleaner look.  Cannot wait to see what others do with this sketch as it is a doozy!

OWH & Cards in Envy

I decided that the challenges for Card in Envy Sketch #6 and OWH MWT: Masculine were a perfect fit so I created this card.  The image is from OWH (a freebie on their website) and the paper is mostly from K&Co.  The two strips were created using a little star punch.  I am always looking for new ways to use my punches and I am really happy with the result!

Birdie Brown: July

My card features a group of sweet digis by Birdie Brown which are all free.  She does hold a monthly Freebie Challenge in which I will be entering.  I used two punches to create a "fish bowl" for the sentiment.  The papers are by Doodlebug.  I added a couple Candi dots and some twine as a punch of color.

OWH Sketch #180 & ATCAS

Great sketch as always...  When I was looking through my digi folder, I ran across this one which is by Paula.  While I have used it several times for cards, I was inspired to try using it again in a little different way.  The sentiment is planned to be more of a design element for this card, so I placed it on the strip.  Originally I was going to layer the white paper directly on the black but I had some of the striped paper laying around.  When I did my visual trial it really added some pop so it was added to my card.  I also think the the nautical theme as featured in the latest Papercrafts magazine has been simmering in my brain.

I am also linking this card to the Addicted to CAS #17 Water Challenge.

OWH ODBD July Challenge

Last month I got waayy behind on my usual challenges, one of which was the ODBD challenge.  I decided to hop right to making this Any Hero card for the challenge this month.  Unfortunately, the digi creator of the boots is a mystery.  I was so inspired by Angie's stunning sample card that I decided to try something similar with the boot image to which I added the sentiment.  Papers are by K&Co Americana.

I am most thankful for my DH and the time we spend together...in our simple life.

S2T Cards

Yesterday besides doing laundry, I worked on my FB Scrap To Treasure June Swap Kits  hosted by Kathryn.  The theme was "Something Borrowed, Something Blue" (no wedding). We had
Jen's Kit
only 5 participants, so we each received 2 duplicate kits which isn't a problem.  Thanks Kathryn for your efforts!  I picked the best card from each kit to share.  Our next swap theme is Christmas in July and the dute date is right around the corner.  My package should hit the PO today.

OWH: MWT

The week's challenge is to use Red, White, Blue & Kraft.  Easy peasy as I had made these cards from kits from Beth & Julie (fellow FB Scrap to Treasure members).  Since they made the kits...I do not know the deets, but I was super excited to color Ciara!

OWH Sketch #179

Great sketch Kathryn!  Kathryn is a fellow FB Scrap to Treasurer member and a sweetie as well!  My image is a free image by by Marianne Walker that I had saved after the fall OWH card deadline last year.  Go check her blog out if you want to improve your Copics coloring as she has free classes.  I love coloring pumpkins, so I was happy to have a sketch that worked perfect and the fall deadline will be here before we realize it.  Super easy to color.  Papers are MME and Colorbok.  I did pop the image and added 3 BG brads.
