OWH: MWT: Cards for Kids

I pulled this card from my box of cards that are ready to go.  It features some stickers and some scraps I had laying around at the time.  I have been trying to work on a package of stickers/diecuts at one time similar to how Kristie uses up a paper pad.  It seems to work when I have time to make multiple cards, which is a rarity.  Sentiment is computer generated.

My second card features some BG diescut pack that I am currently working through.  Image is from HA and what I truly love about this set is that is it uber easy to fussycut...absolutely brilliant!

OWH Sketch #209

Fun sketch as always...this one is courtesy of Anne!  Just love the button and banners accent.  I broke out a new pad of paper by EP that I bought last week at Archivers (so sad that they are going out of business).  I also recently bought the stamp set from my local scrapbook store; I thought it was perfect for OWH cards.

Cards in Envy: Through the Window

I was lucky enough to have MLK day off so my sis and I went on a roadtrip that included a stop at Archivers.  I did not get to go very often because the nearest one is about 2 hours away and now sadly they are going out of business.  My visit was a success when I found this stamp and die set from Taylored Expressions.  The challenge at Cards in Envy is the perfect excuse to get it out and play.  I also used a Paper Smooches die for the banner and SU cloud embossing folder.  The sentiment was part of the set.

OWH MWT: Pastel

A quick card for the current OWH MWT theme of using pastels.  I have a K&Co mini pack of pastels that works perfectly.  I also used a new stamp from Studio G that I bought recently from JoAnns.  Easy peasy!

ATCAS #30

The theme is "New" at Addicted to CAS.  We have a niece who pregnant with her second child so I decided I should use this challenge for the opportunity to make a card for the upcoming event.  The pattern papers are by Simple Stories.  This card is a CASE of one created by Patricia Hays which I was super inspired by.  Thanks Patricia!

OWH Sketch #208

What a gorgeous winter day, plus it is Sunday which means there is another wonderful inspiring sketch from OWH.  If you follow Barb Housner you know that she has been creating cards from what is on her table.  I almost took a "scrap, not crap" card making self-challenge for the month of January but I did not think about it soon enough. This card features items that were already on my table except the sentiment which was computer generated.

Cards In Envy: Snowmen

I am kinda out of the mojo for making snowmen cards but I decided to go for it anyway for the lastest Cards in Envy challenge.  This card feature a stamp by FRL Designs (not sure how I got this stamp) and some scraps off my table.  Embossing foldder by Darice.  The sentiment is actually on the stamp but I ended up stamping it in a different color and placing it at the top of the card.

ATCAS: Diecuts

Here is my card for the current challenge #29 at Addicted to CAS to use your diecuts.  This card is a remake of a card I made earlier this year and can be found here.  I was originally going to use this shape on my other card but it the die was hiding on me.  Some of you totally get what I mean when I said that, don't you.    Sentiment by Paper Smooches...I totally love that you can color in this one.

OWH MWT: Easter

Hello!  When I saw this week's theme I decided to pull out this card from my OWH box to show you.  Unfortunately I had saved this image back in 2011 and I do not know who created it.  I am smarter now; I always make sure to tag the image so I can give the artist credit.

Sandy has requested that cards become more generic (I am not sure that is the correct term) to give them a longer shelf life.  This is an example of that, with the Easter image and miss you sentiment.

OWH Sketch #207

Just a quick post of my card for the latest sketch created by Jen.  A super easy fun sketch to follow.  I had stamped the SU image last night hoping I could use it for today.  I tweaked some the the measurements slightly to make it all work.  Papers by MME.

Words 2 Scrap By: The Sound of Music

Have you ever made a card and then realize that it works for a challenge theme that was on your list to do?  This Thank You card is for the lady who fostered our new rescue dog Maddie.  She is a 8 year old Viszla and after just one week is fitting in perfectly.  The kraft, dog image, and twine makes this card a perfect fit with the song "My Favorite Things".
Check out this new challenge blog Words 2 Scrap By and join in the fun!

OWH MWT: Chalkboard

A super easy card that uses a free chalkboard digi from Paula at Handmade By Paula.  She has many great digis available.  The printed paper was dug out of my scrap pile.  I was going for that country homespun feeling without the use of florals.

OWH Sketch #206

Wonderful, wonderful sketch and it it generating some awesome cards!  Thanks to one of my Scrap 2 Treasure swappers I had some scalloped circles to use.  I am adding some dies to my wish list.  Patterned papers is from the DCWV Little Ones set.  I need a little more practice on heat embossing large areas like the plane otherwise I think that would be my favorite out of the three. I win messiest crafting desk award as I cannot figure out who made either of the stamps I used...oops!

OWH ODBD Challenge: Stripes

I decided to start by using this embossing folder which I think is from Darice.  I was inspired by the use of the Washi Tape on the sample.  Paper Smooches sentiment is heat embossed and then colored with Copics.  CAS all the way.

Top 13 of 2013

I have to admit it was hard to pick my top 13 cards for the last year but the process really allows for some critical thinking.  So without further ado, here they are in no particular order:

Use of sticker, stamps and computer sentiment to creat a fun vibe.

My fave color combo of the year: turquoise and red.  The placement of fussycut image on black patterned paper created some pop.

Use the the ribbon to underline the sentiment.

Use of a different shape for the sentiment.

Great image to color.

Retro image mixed with Copics.

The paper really set off the retro image.

Lots of fussy cutting great papers.
My fave color combo and great use for the hexi punch.
The mix of Copics and rub-ons for a fun guy card.

Great layers and paper mix.

Great use of a puny sentiment.

Uses multiple punches.
