OWH MWT: A Bug's Life

Bugs...the theme of this week's OWH Midweek Challenge.  Lucky me to have this super fun image to color from Dustin Pike; sentiment was added by me on the sign.  I actually did not realize that I had printed the image so big so I went super simple on the rest of the card.

Birdie Brown April Freebie Challenge

Cameras are really trendy and this month Birdie Brown free image and sentiment is super fun!  Coloring it was very easy and to add a little extra touch of whimsy I colored in the letters.  Isn't the sentiment just wonderful.  The dp is by MME and border is K&Co.  The blue flowers are fussy cut out of cardstock.  I think I have finally caught up on my challenge to-do list until Wednesday.  Sweet!!!

ATCAS & OWH

The theme for the Addicted to CAS #10 is "Friend".  I have a little addiction to hexagons so I used my punch to create a "mat" for my butterfly and sentiment.  I am not sure who made the butterfly but the sentiment was computer generated by me.  Base/sentiment papers are by MME.  I am also going to link this card up to the OWH ODBD: Things that fly.  In addition, because there are 7 hexis this card will also be linked up to the OWH Bootcamp: "Now that is odd" lesson.

OWH Sketch #168

It's time for another great sketch...this one was the brainchild of Cora...thanks!  I hate to admit this, but I am not big into layering everything.  Because some layers where omitted I chose papers that had some contrast.  I definitely wanted to keep the matting around the focal point (Bootcamp).  To add a little interest I created paper tabs out of double-sided paper.  Papers by Colorbok and Bo Bunny, (not sure of where the image is from), and sentiment by me.

Playing Catch Up...

Color Challenege:  Favorite Color Combo

I was behind on the OWH Midweek Throwdowns Challenges due to life.  Father's Day deadline is approaching fast and if I miss it these cards can still be sent anytime.  I knew for the color challenge I wanted to use red and aqua; my new fave combo.  The tie was created using two punches (yay).  I came up with it on my own but I am sure some smartie somewhere has also figured this out.  Studio G stamp and MME papers were used.

Second Card uses an image from The Graphic Fairy LLC.  I was trying to think of a great "strong" sentiment but ended up with a simple "dad" as nothing really worked for me...if you have an idea let me know in your comment.  DPs by MME.

The last card uses a K&Co Chipboard accent and some old Halloween paper (Recollections? maybe).  I wanted the star to be a little more off center than it ended up being...not sure what happened.  Kinda a CASE of a card by (correction here) Jan!

OWH March Bootcamp

This month's theme is the rule of thirds or "finding a sweet spot".  This card was made from a kit from Ann Merkins in the Scrap to Treasure Masculine Swap hosted by Julie...thanks Ann & Julie!   Honestly, I would not have picked out the black embossed paper for a guy card, but the retro car image totally makes it work.  Red cardstock to pop the sentiment because I have a hard time making black & white cards with "no color".  That is what I love about the swaps...I am challenged to work outside my comfort zone!

OWH Sketch #167

Things have been hectic in my world for the last two weeks, so I am behind on challenges, but no worries I will get caught up.  Sketch is courtesy of Tameko...thanks, it was a fun one.  I decided to whip up another Dad card so I started with the X  and grey borders by K&Co.  Sentiments are computer generated by me.  Patterned papers are by MME.  I have been trying to make "guy" cards out of brighter colors.
