OWH MWT: Green & White

This week's challenge is red & white ot green & white.  I chose the later combo using scrap papers that were on my crafting table.  The sticker is by the same company.  Sentiment is computer generated although I could not really get a shade of green that I liked.  Stop back tomorrow for my top 13 from 2013.

OWH Sketch #205

A super easy sketch thanks to Cindy.  Great sample card, particularly the layering, I am putting that on my need to try list. This is the second week in a row I am unable to see the sketch on the post.  Is anyone else having that problem? Suggestions?

The little racoon diecut has been laying on my table for weeks just begging to be put to good use so that is where I started.  I used a new-to-me color combo which I am really liking.   Sentiment is computer generated.

OWH Sketch #204

The sketch this week by Tommi threw me for a little loop with the three circles in the bottom half but I think I was able to work it out.  I absolutely loved her sentiment placement, but I ended up with mine in the circle.   Papers are by October Afternoon; sentiment was computer generated.  Gotta keep rolling as I still have lots of Christmas stuff to work on.

OWH: Penguins

OWH had a special request for penguin cards that are not winter specific.  I had no stamps or papers that would work so I decided I needed to create one using paper punches. The bottom card is my second attenpt which is okay but I knew I could make it better.  The top card is my third final attempt.  Thanks for looking!

OWH Sketch #203

Another fun & easy sketch thanks to fellow OWHer Cherie.  The little chick was my starting point...a die cut by imaginisce.  I used papers by AC & imaginisce.  Do you ever wonder how the camera never lies?  I have just a hair difference in the banner spacings but it looks like a mile in the photo.  Oh well, I think I am going to keep this one for my own personal use.  Thanks for stopping by!

Addicted to CAS: Snowflakes

Hello...I guess I am on roll for posting today.  I pulled out makingmemories Mistletoe spiral journal pages which has snowflakes printed on clear acetate.  I also grabbed a piece of kraft cardstock...it always reminds me of Christmas and homemade wrapping paper.  The real challenge was how get the acetate to stay on the card and still look good.  I ended up pulling out a corner punch that I could slip the corners into.  The sentiment is by Fiskars.  I am linking this card up to the last challenge for the year at Addicted to CAS.  What a great theme to end on!

OWH ODBD: December

A great big Thank You to Our Daily Bread Design for sponsoring this monthly challenge for OWH and postage for two boxes when we hit the 50 card mark.  They chose a masculine theme this month.

My card card features a sentiment that I created myself that was inspired by the bowling pin paper.  I just love the retro bowling alley signs which seemed to be a perfect match.  Putting the card together so it wasn't too busy was a bigger challenge.  I have a paper pack that has several sheets so I can see making a few multiples or variations of this card.

OWH Sketch #202

One sketch...three cards.  They are posted in the order that they were created.  I think I like the last one the best.  Which do you like best?

OWH MWT: Valentines/Love Cards

A quick post to share my CASE card that was inspired by Carol's card which was #1 on the challenge.  The love is cut out of the Cricut Chalkboard Font cart which was a recent purchase.  Thanks Carol!  I am off to CASE Cindy's card next!

OWH Sketch #201

Thanks to Donna we had this fun sketch to play with today!  Sentiment is from CTMH; designer papers by MME.   Thanks for visiting!

OWH MWT: White on White

White on white...equals a super challenging color combo for me.  I did find some papers that have a hint of color to use to add a little umph.  No bow makes this card more gender neutral.

OWH Sketch #200

Great sketch!...Yeah, I know I always write that, but I love almost all of them.  This is my second card for this sketch.  The other card did not really follow the sketch so I decided a do-over was in order.  Image and sentiment are from Unity.  The striped paper is from Cosmo Cricket.  Three posts from me in one day...and it was my Sunday to work.

Addicted to CAS: Pet

I have to admit that I just love this fun digi by Jane's Doodles.  It is so easy to paper piece and brings back fond memories of my dog Shivers.  Sentiment is by Paper Smooches.  The card is for the current challenge at Addicted to CAS: Pets.

Cards in Envy: Punch It

The current challenge at Cards In Envy is to creat a card using your punches or dies.  Now I just love my punches so this card was easy peasy.  I used my diamond and snowflake punches to create the poinsettia.  A little foam was used to add a little dimension.  I need a couple of thank you cards for work so these will be perfect.  Most of the papers are DCWV.

OWH MWT: Masculine Birthday

I have to confess I am addicted to journaling cards...they are super fun.  My card this week features one as well as an image/sentiment from Whimsie Doodles which is perfect for a gamer of any age.

OWH Sketch 199

Thanks to Penny Ward, there is another great sketch this week on the OWH blog!  The Hero Arts stamp was one that I had not yet inked.  My next step was to go to the Bo Bunny pack and I decided the paper with stamps would be a good fit.  The only glitch was the paper is visually busy which is why I tweaked the measurements.

Addicted to CAS: Anniversary

Two years ago my parent celebrated their 50 years together and I have known several other couples that have reached this amazing milestone since that time.  That was my inspiration for this card.  I used gold core'dinations paper as the base.  The heart stamp maker is unknown.  It is heat embossed in gold and then Glossy Accents was added where it was not embossed.

I am also linking this up to this week's OWH MWT: Dry Embossing

Happy First Anniversay Addicted to CAS!!!

OWH MWT: Any Hero Cards

This week's challenge is to make an Any Hero Card.  I had purchased some buttons from JoAnn's a long time ago and decided this was the perfect opportunity to use one.  Since this card will not be put through a postal meter, I don't have to worry anout the Hero popping off.  Sentiment is by Paper Smooches.  CAS all the way on this one.

OWH Sketch #197...Playing catch up...

I am posting this sketch card a little late because I originally made a nice card but it did not really follow the sketch so back to the drawing board.  My week kinda got away from me after that.  This card features a K&Co chipboard sticker and papers from The Paper Studio.  ps...I thought Dixie's card was uber yummy...gorgeous ribbon and layering!

Cards In Envy: Sentiment

Cards in Envy has a new challenge for cards that feature a sentiment.  Sometime ago I created this little sentiment so I could practice Copic coloring on something simple.  I have to admit that the card I ended up with looks nothing like what I planned for when I started.  The star paper is Bo Bunny.  I am also linking this up to this month's Bootcamp topic of Balance in Design.  Most of the cards I create are asymmentrical so it was super fun to create a radial design; I have always wanted to do something like this.  My inspiration was a digi designed by Matt Anderson at Paper Crafts Magazine.

OWH Sketch #198

Great sketch as always with an awesome group of samples...Way To Go Doodle Pantry!  The Paper Studio had this fun "manly" paper pad that I just could not resist even though I own way too much as it is.  The typewriter set from Stampin' Up seems like a perfect match so I inked it up. I did a little tweaking to the measurements because of the many layers in the card.

Two OWH Cards

The first card was made for the ODBD. The chalkboard technique was used on the heart (no name stamp) embellie.  Paper by Paper Studio and Colorbok.  Sentiment is computer generated.

Second card is for the MWT:Stars and uses scraps.  Sentiment is Studio G which I colored with Copics.  The star is blinged up with Liquid Pearls.

ATCAS: One Layer

Addicted to CAS has posted a new challenge.  The theme is "One Layer".  Okay...I am not very good at stamping...but I do like mixing ink colors when stamping so I went with that.  I used my circle punch to create a mask  for my sentiment.  The "background" was stamped using a collection of TPC stamps and three CTMH inks.  I think the sentiment is from a Hero Arts OWH and the circle is from Limited Edition.  It did take me four trys to get this card...

Cards In Envy: Spotlight

This card was made especially for the current challenge at Cards in Envy.  I have to admit that this is my first time at trying this technique...wasn't sure I could make it work until I realized that the image could be colored in grays.  The cute image is by Whimsie Doodles.  Papers by K&Co and American Crafts.

OWH Sketch #196

Hello!  Another wonderful sketch with some awesome samples thanks to the Doodle Pantry team.  I decided that it was time to break out this free digi from Starry Nights Studio.  The dog is popped out for a little added dimension.  Paper is by American Crafts; sentiment by Stampin' Up.

OWH MWT: Green & Pink

Super simple card with the Hero Arts OWH sentiment.  I got to break out one of my new embossing folders.  Happy to be making cards for the weekly challenge!

A Monster Party for SSC!

I really went out of my comfort zone with this card.  The images were free from Lawn Fawn and aren't they just the cutest monsters?  The theme this week at Sweet Stampin' Challenge is Monster Birthday.  Papers mostly by American Crafts.  I had lots of fun with my punches to create the embellies.

OWH #195

I look forward to my Sunday OWH sketch fix.  This week's sketch was one of deja vu because it seemed like one of my go-to-sketches that floats around in my head when I am making cards with just my mojo.  Thanks Barb for a easy sketch and great sample!

I ended up pulling out some old papers that I had not used by Cosmo Cricket.  No stamping/coloring on this card, which made it super easy.

OWH Sketch #194

Last week I was able to take a little break at my LSS.  I swore I would not buy any paper but I could not resist this MME 6x6 paper pad.  So of course when this awesome sketch by Nancy was posted I saw and opportunity to break it out.  I had to take some creative liberties with measurements and number of layers to make my card work.

Cards in Envy & Sweet Stampin' Challenge

I have to admit I was a little stymied at first on the "Now That's Scary" theme at Cards in Envy.  I do not make many Halloween cards as OWH does not have a big need for them.  I dug around until I found the haunted house (Making Memories) paper.  The sentiment and pumpkin row are stamps from Hampton Arts.  I am also linking this card up to Sweet Stampin' Challenge "Halloween".

OWH ODBD Challenge

This card was made using a fall swap kit from Cindy Simcik-Brighton and a recent OWH sketch (one of my new faves!).  Thanks Cindy!!!

Sweet Stampin' Challenge & Birdie Brown

Good Morning!  I made this card yesterday using this cute image by Torico at Birdie Brown that is free for her October challenge.  I am also linking it up to the Sweet Stampin' Challenge "Autumn is Here" challenge.   I used my Stamping Up cloud embossing folder for the sky.  A piece of burlap ribbon inked in yellow for the straw bale.  Brought back memories of my younger days!

OWH Sketch #193

Thanks to Velda and her great sketch I was able to whip up this card...Thanks Velda!  My card uses October Afternoon paper and the Hero Arts OWH stamp.  I ended up double matting the rectangle piece to add a little extra pop between the aqua papers.

OWH WCMD Blog Hop 2013

Welcome...hope you are having a great time on this fabby holiday.  My card uses an older stamp by DOTS "On My Honor" that I found secondhand.  I used sketch #192 and some papers by K&Co to create my card.  One of my least used punches is my corner rounder so I pulled it out.  The star embossing was done using the Darice folder and the sentiment was computer generated.  Banner is a Paper Smooches die.
