SSC: Flowers

Sweet Stampin' Challenge is celebrating their 3rd Birthday with the theme of Flowers.  I also needed a birthday (tomorrow) card for my sweet mom who has been through alot the last two years.

Image is by Sandi's Samples and sentiment is Stampin' Up.  The base paper is MME and the banners are K&Co scraps.  I had purchased a new Liquid Pearls color set so I was generous with it.  I love the dimension it gave the flower.

OWH MWT: Winter Fun

A quick card for this week thanks to having my number drawn at  Sweet Stampin' Challenge.  I won some free digis from StampFairy.  I had picked this one specifically because I knew it would make great cards for OWH.  Paper from American Crafts (still working on using those up) and sentiment is computer generated.

I definitely need to make more of these for my box.

OWH Sketch #148

Fun easy sketch that I decided to flip.  Papers by American Crafts, no surprise there as I am still trying to use that pad up.  I have over 20 cards made so far, but I am so ready to move on to other papers.

Adorable image by Jane's Doodles colored with Copics.  Sentiment is computer generated. Twine by Studio G.  I did use my black Copics to outline my "tag" and give the illusion that it is matted.  That's all for now.

OWH MWT: Turquoise & Silver

This was actually a pretty quick card to put together.  I still am working on using up that AC paper pack, that luckily I had some scraps in turquoise to work with.  The chipboard butterfly (from Michael's dollar bin?) was colored using Liquid Pearls (painted on) and some colored inks (turquoise and black) on the edges so it would not blend in with the base.  Love this color combo!

AC Paper Pad Saga Continues...

Birdie Brown/Sweet Stampin'/Addicted to CAS Challenges
All cards use paper from an American Crafts paper pad.  I have challenged myself to use papers from this pad until it's gone (leave no scrap behind!).

Card 1:  Uses an image from Birdie Brown for her November Challenge.  I am also going to link it up to Sweet Stampin' Challenge as the theme is Snow People.  Also, there is a new challenge site: Addicted to CAS that requires few embellishments and lots of "white space".  With only one embellishment I think this card qualifies.  Their code word is Snow.

Card 2:  I used a Bugaboo Digi Stamp.  I chose one that could be turned in a love themed card for OWH if needed.

OWH #147
Card 3: I saw this sketch and knew it would be perfect for a CASE of one of Dixie's cards (Thanks Dixie!) that uses a banner die. My pad had an extra print on the other side of the perforated edge. When I was cutting the paper awhile back, I realized it would be perfect for this look. I normally would mat with black cardstock for some real pop, but gasp, I ran out. My delivery person (i.e. sister) has not dropped off a new pack for me. The sentiment is computer generated by me.

I did learn one thing from the 6x6 tutorial; I should not cut all the pad up in case I get bored with a sketch.  I had to find a matching red paper for card 3 because I did not have any pieces big enough for the sketch.

OWH MWT: Thank You

A quick card.  I am still working on the American Craft 6x6 pack and I am up to 18 cards.  The butterfly is a sticker from Martha Stewart and sentiment is computer generated.

Happy Hump Day!

SSC & OWH Cards

My first card was made for this week's "Anything Goes" theme at Sweet Stampin Challenge.  This uber adorable image can be found for free at Dilly Beans.  She was fun and challenging to color. Come play along!

For both cards in this post, I used paper from American Crafts that I found at Target (sorry...after I tore all the sheets out, I got rid of the cover)  I am trying the Kristie M 6x6 Paper pad tutorial that can be found at Operation Write Home.
This card was finished before I went to work this am.  Here I am linking it up and noticed that another card features this exact image from K&Company.  Great minds think alike!!!  I have been working on using these last few images up since Friday; three were left and worked well for the sketch.  I also used two eyelets to add some white floss and white fabric paint (fake liquid pearls).  I tweaked the sketch a little as I did not have a big enough print for the base...I always forget that one can do that.  Two more images to go...

OWH MWT & a Sympathy Card

This week's MWT theme is Red, White & Blue.  My card has a touch of black for a little added pop. I had purchased a couple of W R Memory Keepers 4x6 pad for albums for $1.00 each.  I used up the Yankee Doodles one and made 7 cards; pretty darn good for the money.  I love the visual energy of this line.
My second card will be hand delivered today as I remember a man that was like an uncle to me.  I do not make sympathy cards to have on hand because I use the process to reminisce on the person's life and my relationship with them.  It allows me time to grieve in the privacy of my home.

OWH Sketch #145

I am a little sad today...I learned that my LSS is closing and this was the place I learned to use my Copics...sigh...

A flip of the sketch and I had two easy cards made using brads on both but changing the paper.

Now, if it was just as easy to adapt to the new time would be that be great?

Playing catch-up...

MWT: Valentines
I had started the MWT card before I saw this week's OWHtv "four heart blah to wow" mini tutorial.  I decided to go ahead and finish my card anyway just because I got a crush on kraft and I was using more that 4 hearts.  : )

ODBD Challenge

I dusted off my Cricut to make a love card for this month's ODBD challenge.  In September we met the 50 cards in record time...but not so for October. The red ribbon put up a fuss so I added the white floss which just seems to be a great touch.
