OWH MWT: Thank You!

Some quick cards I recently made using some more odds and ends.

The middle card was inspired by by a tutorial that can be found here:  http://operationwritehome.org/tutorial-scrappy-backgrounds/.  It kinda reminds me of the sunburst card fronts.  I took some liberties with the paper widths partly to add some extra interest but also save a little time.

OWH Sketch #123 and Bonus

Just a quick post of the two cards I made for yesterday's challenges.  I still have not made it through the hop; way too many other things to do.  Still whittling down the scrap pile a little.  I did buy some uber yummy patriotic papers that I cannot wait to cut into; maybe next weekend?

Blog Hop Candy!

Hope you enjoy the hop!  Please leave a comment before midnight Monday to be entered in the random drawing.  You do need to write out your email address to be eligible.  No other rules!!!

OWH Memorial Day Sketch Bloghop

I actually made two Any Hero cards for the hop, both using only paper from my scrap pile.  I really wanted to pick a sketch that I have not made yet, as I would like to try them all this year so I picked #45.  I used the new Paper Smooches set.  I colored my twine on both using a technique that can be found on Nancy's blog here:  http://brujahrose.blogspot.com/2012/01/money-saver-monday.html.  The second card is not a sketch card, but I wanted to show you the twine in white.  I love that you can create your own "baker's twine" using any color(s) so cheaply.  I have blog candy, see the blog candy post if you are interested.  Happy hopping!!!

OWH MWT: I Love You

I was lucky enough to have a card already made that met the challenge and I wanted to share.  The typewriter image had been in my "get it used" pile.  Cannot wait to hop this weekend!

Blog Hop Sneak Peek

OWH Sketch #122

Good Morning!  I took a peek at Barb's card...she had a hard time finding a small stamp.  I had a hard time with how to fill it since I wanted to use that fat old "grumpy" owl and sentiment.  I did only use paper scraps...are you tired of me saying that?  It is inspiring to me especially since I am not adding to it.  Anyway I am taking my DH out for breakfast so I gotta run!

Quick card using papers pulled from the scrap pile!

OWH Sketch #121

I looove this sketch!  However, after seeing some other cards with great diecut shapes, I decided that I would like this card better with a different shape with the sentiment.  Only scraps were used to make the front...and this is a great sketch for scraps...so I am going to try to make a few more cards using it.

OWH MWT: Patriotic

Still on my scrap wrangling kick!  Stamps used Hero Arts and Paper Smooches.  I did curve the banners so it would be kinda like the flag stripes waving in the wind.  I may try this card again with a mat behind the base.  Have a GREAT day!

OWH "Be a Rebel" VCMP Day 2 Cards

#6:  Use a Diecut
Still using only scrap paper to make cards!  Finally finished the last VCMP card this evening.  The "sister cards" were made using sketches 22 & 23, so I can check them off my list.   I did treat myself to the new Paper Smooches OWH stamp set.  Ordered it Friday and got it today...what service!!!
#8:  Blue & Gray

#9:  Patrotic "Sister Cards"

#10:  Owls

Be A Rebel VCMP Day 1...

#1:  A card for a child using paper piecing!

All cards were made with scrap paper...even the Garfield paper (which I really was hoarding).  The cookie card turned out pretty darn good.  I have the best darn Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe and the card would go perfect with them.  On to the rest of the challenges!

#2:  "Use Something You've Been Hoarding."

#3: Food as your focal image.

#4:  Use bright colors.

#5:  ODBD Use 5 elements.

OWH Sketch #120

Yesterday was the kickoff (for me) of garage sales in our area...so I am a little behind on the Be A Rebel VCMP.  I did mange to find a house mouse stamp so I will be inking that up sometime in the future.

This weekend is devoted to making cards out of only scraps!  So I dug into my pile and came up with this card.  The bird in a cage was an afterthought because I thought the card needed something else.  Nice sketch.  On to the challenges and the wrangling!!!

OWH MWT: Flowers!

The first card is my homework for my Copics Class.  We colored the image in class and the teacher challenged us to use it in a project.  I fussycut it out at home (ended up cutting off the feet so I get in between the legs) and made this card.  I cannot wait to share with the class.

The second card I made for today's challenge and was inspired by my niece and Sugarland; I was going for countrified summer floral.

The third card is a scrap card that I made recently after the Scrap Wrangler video.  No, I still have not wrangled any scraps because I have a few other stuff to wrangle first!
