OWH Sketch #174

Thanks Rachel for a great sketch!  A while back I had purchased a sticker sheet made by EP (A boy's life) but was having a difficult time making cards from it.  Recently, I was able to purchase a couple sheets of coordinating paper which seemed to get my mojo for those stickers flowing.  I did not really want to cover up too much of that fun car paper so  I went with one of my most favorite embellies which is twine (maybe because the bows are easier to tie?) I better get back to the hop...I just needed a little break.

OWH Memorial Day Bloghop: The Power of the Punch

This year's Bloghop theme is "Thank You using a OWH sketch".  I have been wanting to try something like this for a while...the hop was just the push I needed.  I punched papers from MME using my SU hexagon punch.  After I got the pieces all glued down I used my Spellbinders embossing folder and then hand cut the shape out.  Added a little inking on the edges to hide any pencil marks.  I used paper rafia and an OWH tutorial to create the "bow".  Sentiment is by SRM Stickers.  Seven different punches were used to create this card, which I think is a record for me.

If you are just starting to hop you can click here to start at the beginning. Thanks for stopping by...I won't keep you as there is alot to see!

OWH Sketch #173

I recently read a comment from a Hero about having few cards to send to "boys" that really tugged at my heart.  I have decided I am going to make more "boy" cards for my next box, especially since there are no major holiday deadlines looming.  This card was super easy peasy with these chipboard images  from K&Co and I have more to use.  Sometimes it is nice to just cut and paste so to speak. The OWH Memorial Day Bloghop is this coming weekend...hope you can join in the fun!

OWH MWT: Sentimental

A quick simple card .  I went to Hobby Lobby last night to check out the  new Hero Arts stamps and also spied this stamp from Stampabilities which I just fell in love with.  Diane also bought this stamp.  Yes, I bought both HA sets...just could not decide which one I liked better.  As I look at the photo, I am now wondering if I should have added a mat of white?  Paper by Colorbok.  Have a great day!

OWH Sketch #172 for Birdie Brown

Thanks to Ronni U, OWH had this great sketch this week that I thought I could use for this fun Birdie Brown digi.  She is currently running the May challenge to use this image.  He reminds me a little of my DH's father(overalls, glasses, and a hat).

I used an image from Free Vintage Digital Stamps as a backdrop.  The polka dot paper was in my scrap pile and was made by Making Memories.

Hope you all had a great Mother's Day!

OWH MWT

The first card  made for the Thank You challenge was from a swap card kit courtesy of Sandi Freeman, Scrap to Treasure FB Group member. Thanks Sandi!

I love sketch #171 so much that I made two more cards from papers in my scrap pile for the His & Hers challenge.

OWH NSD VCMP Day 2

Welcome back...

The first card is a picture of our dog Shivers who is no longer with us...she was a keeper for sure and we miss her every day.  It was bittersweet to make a funny card from one of her photos(she was very photogenic and easy going).

The image on the second card is by Fancy Pants (one of those journaling cards that I am very addicted to purchasing).  The rest of the papers are scraps.

Challenge # 7: Summer

I have to say that the IKEA effect hit me hard with the last card. This basketball stamp was given to me by a friend. I set up the little "scene" and thought it would make a great riddle card. I thought about it and had a little brain block so I googled the answer to the question I made up...I never did see an answer but one did pop in my head. Duh! "Let's bounce! I put the answer on the top of the inside so there would be room to write. I definitely want to make more riddle cards...good for young ones don't you think?

Challenge #8: Googly eyes
Thanks to all for a great party...it was fantabulous!

OWH NSD VCMP Sketch #171

Well, I decided to link up my sketch card before go to my parents, but I will be back later.  Love the sketch as usual and was inspired by the heart in the sample, so I wanted to make sure that I included that element into the mix.  Papers are from Making Memories, Colorbok, and My Mind's Eye.  Sentiment is by Hampton Arts.

OWH NSD VCMP Day 1

I got a late start today as garage sale season has started despite the unusual weather.  I was so excited to find a heat gun for embossing for a mere dollar so this is definitely my lucky day!  Most of the papers in these cards were "scraps" with the exception of the last card.

Challenge 1: ODBD-Miss you

Image by TPC and sentiment is computer generated.  I have been trying to add more color to masculine cards so I added a few touches of aqua.

Challenge 2: One Boy & One Girl

Challenge 2: One Boy & One Girl

I used Sketch #71 for Paula's challenge.  Sentiment is computer generated so I could practice a little coloring.  I also did some paper tearing because Paula's card always look awesome with the added texture.

Challenge 3: Romantic & Tutorial

Flower Power was the tutorial used for for this card.  I was going for one of my favorites...lilacs...not sure I achieved it but it is a nice little bouquet.  Hearts for leaves but they should have been flipped...oh well next time.  Sentiment is computer generated.

Challenge 4: Use a scrapbook layout

I tried to use the same LO as Nancy as I had these cute MS stickers to use.  Sentiment is SU; houndstooth paper is by Carta Bella.
