OWH Sketch #190

Carol 's cards are truly an inspiration to me so I am happy to see one of her layouts being featured this week.  WTG Carol!  When I started my card this morning I had not had any coffee yet so I accidently debossed my base paper...ooops.  I decided to embrace my "mistake" and use it anyway.  Most of the paper is by Bo Bunny, image is a sticker by K&Co and burlap ribbon was purchased at Michael's.  I added a light coat of glue to the top of the ribbon to stablize it.

  1. Very nice card for this week's OWH sketch. I really like the burlap banners over the blue star papers. And the embossing on the background paper really adds nice texture. Great job!

  3. Linda - I really like the circle as the focal point. This is a great patriotic themed card without the traditional red, white, & blue only. I really like the burlap for texture. Way to go, embracing the debossed background - I think it works just fine! TFS!

  4. Debossed? Is that upside down paper when embossing? Hard to tell but it almost looks like a Lego effect, which I am thinking would make some great kid cards. Great idea for that layer of glue on the burlap so those edges will stay put.

  5. Thanks for the kind words Linda, you really lifted my spirits today :)
I love your patriotic card, and the "mistake" of debossing turned out to look very impressive! I love those burlap banners and especially that great American image! Wishing you a fabulous week ahead!
