OWH: Early-Bird Challenge

I just sent a small box of 100+ cards to Kris for the Duty, Honor, Cards Challenge before the 7/4/2012 deadline.  I did a little cleaning and found a few cards that needed to be finished, which I got done earlier this week

I made 6 of these cards with a few variations for the new challenge due 7/31/2012 entitled Early-Bird.  The image is by Pink Gem Designs.  It came as a colored and uncolored digi.  The sentiment is by me.

I was lucky about two weeks ago...went to a garage sale and got some winter paper for $6.00. This was some of it.  SCORE!!!

A little Liquid Pearl to add a touch of bling.

OWH MWT: Anniversay Card

Happy hot 4th of July...so happy to be in where is is cool!  I decided it was time to CASE a card that was made by Cheryl at http://shestamps.blogspot.com/.  I love her work!

When I saw her uber adorable card I fell in love with everything about it.  Isn't it so sweet...particularly love all those xoxos.

The bear is a free digi image from http://spyder-spyderscorner.blogspot.com/.  I changed up the buttons with brads to make it more mail friendly.  There were two things that were challenging to me, the first was the use of pink and the second was the tilt of the image (I always tilt to the other way).  So good to work outside my comfort zone.

Anyway...I need to make start a second card...My sis will be celebrating hers soon.

CASE Card

New Card
I enjoyed the OWH/OSH Blog Hop...lots of great inspiration.  If you want to check it out go here:  http://operationwritehome.org/my-countrymit-land-bloghop/.  Since I did not see a OWH Sunday Sketch Challenge today, I decided to create my own, and CASE a card that I made at a class about 2 years ago.  It helped that I ran across the perfect sentiment stamp for the CASE at Michael's recently.   In addition, I created my own dp by using a free image that can be found here: http://thealleywaystamps.blogspot.com/p/freebies.html.  Alison also has a sentiment that is perfect for the snail image.  Thanks Alison!

CASE card
I am trying to make more "multiples" of cards; they all may not be exactly alike but they are pretty close. This card will work well for that!

WOW!  What a crazy week!  The first card uses an image by http://oddsandsoxlets.co.uk/ that was at one time free.  I was lucky enough to find it using the Free Digital Stamps blog...gotta love all the wonderful work they do!  One of my baby sisters loves sock monkeys so I am saving it for her birthday in August.  As I was looking through my paper stash I ran across one sheet of monkey heads.  I fussy cut them all out to avoid adding to my huge scrap pile ;) .  Created the sentiment using my computer...I "heart" circle sentments, not sure why...  I did pop the bottom part of the face to step it up a bit.  There will be a number of these in the next OWH box.  I usually make one card at a time...hence all the scraps...trying to quit that and make more multiples.

Speaking of boxes...mine went postal earlier this week for the card challenges.

OWH: Sketch #127

What a great sketch...so versatile!  It was my inspiration for both cards...although it might be difficult to tell.  I took lots of creative license as I was excited to get both these images made into cards.  I need to start packing my box to mail to Kris.  I swear it takes twice as long to "stamp" & stuff the cards than it does to actually make them.

OWH MWT Yellow & Blue

The image is from Whoopsy Daisy Designs.  I downloaded it last year so I am not sure that this cutie is still available.  I tried looking but I could not find a link to this image.  Sentiment made using MS Pub.  Thanks for looking!

OWH Sketch #126

My Copics class this last week was on coloring faces and hair.  Our wonderful teacher gave us some images to practice on and this was one of them.  I colored her ears as hair so I added Liquid Pearls as earrings. The "ribbon" had a sentiment that I felt did not work well for a OWH card so I changed it up a bit.

I almost did not use it for this challenge because she is a little wider than the sketch dimensions.  When I realized that she matched the paper that I had started with as my inspiration, I knew it was serendipity (one of my most favorite words...right next to enthralled).  Do you have any favorite words?
