A super quick card on this Easter morn. A guy card that can be used for Father's Day if needed. Image/sentiment are Stampin' Up; papers by Carta Bella and natural cotton braiding cord. I did chalk the image to add a little more color. Enjoy your day!

Birdie Brown: HaPpY bIrThDaY!
It is another birthday challenge at Birdie Brown to celebrate blog birthday #2. Image is free courtesy of Birdie Brown...she has a bunch of fun freebies. I must be feeling the need for spring to arrive. The sentiment was added to the image which sometimes makes things smpler in terms of design. Pearls colored with Copics to match the image.

OWH Sketch #165
This week's sketch is courtesy of Patricia...Thanks a bunch for a fun one! I decided to go a little patriotic for a nice Dad card. The deadline for Mother's Day is past and the next big deadline is Father's Day. I usually try to avoid specific sentiments that way if I do not make the deadline the cards can still be sent. I traded out the scallops for the red piece of scrap. The plaid/sentiment paper is from K&Co, star is from an All Night Media punch & circle cutter, sentiment by Studio G, and all other from stash.

OWH MWT & SSC
I am just finally getting a little crafty time this week and I really needed it! This week's theme for the OWH MWT is "Ombre" and I decided to mix it up with the new Sweet Stampin' Challenge: Lots of Layers. The image is a one day freebie by Bugaboo and I am totally enamoured with it...super fun and so easy to color! I was super lucky to have some ombre colored paper which made the whole thing waaayy easier.

ATCAS: Wings
I pondered for several days on what thing with wings I should enter in the current Addicted to CAS challenge. I finally decided to use a butterfly. This is kinda a CASE of an earlier card I made. It snowed today and I am so looking forward to spring!
Paper by MME; butterfly from MS punch: Liquid Pearls; BG rhinestones; and sewing machine.

OWH Sketch #164
It's Sunday so there is a new sketch on the OWH blog. Pam was featured and credited with this week's sketch: her cards always are perfect. No stamping today...One of the samples featured Cosmo Cricket paper so I grabbed my drawer and started looking for something that would get me started. I am addicted to journaling cards with pictures and quotes...they can be hard to use, however this card uses two. Most of this paper is from the same pack of 8x8 CC paper. The doily paper is OA. I also decided I needed to go outside the sketch so I ended up with the partial circles (to accent the printed doilies) and hearts. I was thinking of Dixie when I was working with the hearts. (smile)

OWH MWT: Color Challenge
This week's color challenge: Blue, Green, Orange, and Neutral. Lucky me...it fit perfectly with some Mother cards I had been planning out in my head. I am not sure which one I like best...so give me a shout out if you like one more than the other, and why. I want to add these to my box that I am planning on putting in the mail no later than Monday.

OWH: Sketch 163
It's Sunday...which means I get to try out a new sketch...totally makes my day! I started with the chipboard squares that just seemed perfect after yesterday's Animal Puns BlogSkip with the new stamps from Stampers Best. The chipboard squares are Colorbok Friendly Forest which just seemed to work with the papers by DCWV Green Stack. I decided to add an extra mat layer to make them more cohesive. I hardly ever see eyelets used anymore but I do like them so I use them. The SU sentiment works so well with my tag punch which I like to double.
I have recently read some comments from potential OWH cardmakers is that they don't have all the cool tools so they do not feel that they can make OWH worthy cards. Those comments struck a chord within me because I believe that they can! I definitely do not have all the tools and I love to mix it up. It is great that OWH spends energy and resources to help us all grow as cardmakers. Take advantage of those resources...
Happy Birthday!
It is Birdie Brown's 2nd birthday for her blog so I decided to play along. Her images are so sweet and fun to color. There are free images available if you want to join. I am also linking this up as a second entry in Sweet Stampin' Challenge as it fits with their theme: for a man or boy.

OWH MWT: Tic Tac Toe
The theme this week is Tic Tac Toe; I used Ribbon, Blue, and Embossing. I am now wishing I would have added a layer behind the blue birds just to add a little zing. I only had one piece of this embossed paper (gifted to me) and only one sticker. If I tried to redo the card, I would wreck it so I am calling it good. A lesson learned!
SSC: Males
This week's theme at Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog is "for a man or boy". The golf themed SU set was bought used, so I am not sure if it is complete. I used all five stamps and then created my own sentiment. To add a little interest I started out with the green paper which was embossed using plastic canvas. The twine was glued on just a little at a time and then a brad was added for stability. I will be saving this card for my brother as he enjoys golfing.

OWH: Spirelli Tutorial
Totally enamoured with this technique, yes I am! When I was young I remember using the Spirograph, string art kits, and making God Eyes...those were the "good ole days" This totally takes me back to that time. My C1 had dried up...one of my go to Copic colors...will need to purchase a refill. If you saw my earlier post, this is the second "twin" friend birthday card. Image by Sliekje. Somehow I need to get important birthdays on a calendar...I hate sending them late! Special thanks to Nancy & Cindy for some great fun!
SSC: Embossing
I have been playing around with creating my own embossing "folders". The embossing is a little light...I just need to work out a few kinks and I think it will be perfect. The second picture is what I used to emboss the paper with. I found it at Michaels along with this twine that was in the jewelry section. I love that it is not as thick as some twines I have used. Image is a freebie by Sliekje. I have friends who are twins whose birthday is today and they are cat lovers, so this card is for one of them.

OWH Sketch #162
Cranking out generic Mom cards to help OWH get ready for the Mother's Day rush! This sketch is courtesy of Cindy...thanks for a fun one! Paper is MME...image is from Free Vintage Digital Stamps and has been recolored...sentiment by me. My sewing machine needs a little work but I took a chance and stitched a little. This card makes lucky #17...
S2T: Kids Cards
Kathryn B was hosting a Kids Card Kit swap at Scrap To Treasure and somehow I missed signing up. Well, to my surprise and delight, I received 5 kits in the mail Friday courtesy of Kathryn...how sweet! It has been a super long time since I had participated in a card class and had someone else picking the materials for me. It took a slight mental adjustment on my part.
I made 9 cards out of 6 kits...I had a few slip ups along the way. That is why the dragon image is outlined in orange (to hide my mistake). What did I love about the kits the most? None of the images were ones I already had and all of them took me out of my comfort zone! Special thanks to the creators (Jen, Julie, Mary, Beth, Ann, and Kathryn) for the kits!

OWH ODBD: Scallops
The theme for the March "Our Daily Bread Designs" challenge is scallops. Image is by Inky Antics, paper by MME, ribbon by Making Memories. One of the tricks I ran across at the OWH President's Day VCMP was to mat your image with circles to create a scalloped border. I actually had tried that trick once and promptly forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder...especially since I do not have any scallop dies! Red & turquoise are my new fave color combo...can you tell?
